Buying a domain or VPS with USDT: what to expect at checkout
Domains and servers are the most common things people pay for in stablecoins. The flow is similar across providers, but a few details differ from a card checkout. This page covers the mechanics only; it is not financial advice and says nothing about prices.
The usual flow
- Create an account (most providers require one, even when you pay in crypto) and add the domain or server to your cart.
- Choose a cryptocurrency or “crypto” option as the payment method. Some providers take you to a payment processor’s page; others show an invoice inside their own site.
- Pick USDT or USDC and the network. See which network is which.
- Send the exact invoice amount before the timer ends, then wait for confirmations. See how to pay for the full checklist.
What differs from a card payment
- Prepaid, not recurring. Many providers do not charge a crypto wallet automatically. You get an invoice before each renewal, so watch the renewal date, especially for domains, which can lapse.
- Top-up balances. Some providers credit an account balance instead of paying one order. The listing notes this when the provider states it.
- Verification checks. Providers may still run anti-fraud checks on new orders. Whether an order needs extra identity checks is the provider’s decision; each listing quotes what the provider says.
- Refunds. Refund terms for crypto payments are often narrower or handled case by case. Read them before paying.
